Presenter: Christo van der Merwe, CMVP, CEM

Christo van der Merwe holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and brings 24 years of experience in energy management, performance contracting, and measurement & verification (M&V) across more than 450 projects. As a CMVP and CEM, Christo serves on the MVCSA board and is a life member, content developer, and international trainer for AEE. He leads CFJM Solutions, a SANAS-accredited M&V consultancy, and co-directs Green SolX, an I-REC verifier and IEPA training partner in Mauritius.

Christo’s expertise spans end-to-end energy management, metering, data validation, system integrity audits, and integrating renewable energy with robust governance frameworks. He has served clients including BBEnergy, Mediclinic, KPMG, Anglo American, Sibanye-Stillwater, Twinsaver, Corruseal, ENSTRA Paper, and GreenYellow. As one of two AEE-accredited CMVP trainers in Africa, he has trained over 450 delegates and contributed to updating the AEE CMVP curriculum.
