High-Performance Façade Systems in Cold Climate Healthcare Facilities
Thursday 9 April 2026 | 9:00 AM (AEST)
Locations: Canberra | Melbourne | Sydney (Virtual)
Healthcare facilities operating in extreme climates face unique challenges, particularly when it comes to building envelope performance, durability and ongoing maintenance. In environments where winter temperatures can fall as low as –50°C, standard façade solutions are often insufficient — leading to accelerated degradation, increased condensation risk and higher lifecycle costs.
In this global webinar, hosted by IFHE, Peter Dushenski, Managing Director of GlasCurtain, will present a detailed case study of the Mental Health Unit (MHU) expansion at Whitehorse General Hospital. This project provides a compelling example of how intelligent façade design — specifically next-generation glazed curtain wall systems — can significantly improve building performance in cold climate healthcare environments.
The session will explore how advanced glazing technologies, including low-condensation fibreglass-framed curtain wall systems and hygienic integrated blinds,…
