About the Event
Airborne particulate matter (PM) poses significant health risks and challenges for indoor air quality management. Hospitals have for many years understood the importance of preventing patients coming into contact with contaminated air. Â HEPA filtration in high risk areas such as operating theatres has been an industry standard for many years.
The treatment of contaminated air in moderate risk areas such as recovery suites, neo natal wards and oncology wards has been largely held back because the pressure and energy consequences of extending conventional HEPA filtration have often proved practically insurmountable.
In this session, the speakers will relay how this mindset can now change, based on a peer reviewed paper published in the ASHRAE journal. Â The speakers will also cover how Optimal Decontamination Strategies can be used in low risk areas to reduce peak demand and lower running costs.
