About the Event

Although it is well-known that areas where medical devices are used on patients should comply with the AS/NZS 3003 “Electrical Installations in Patient Areas” Standard, experientially it has been found that many Patient Areas do not comply with the Standard. Also, the contribution of AS/NZS 3000 and how this affects the electrical installation of the Patient Areas is less well-known than the requirements contributed by AS/ NZS 3003. In the 1st of 3 seminars on Patient Areas, we will focus on installing patient areas, getting it right the first time, and avoiding costly remediation and rectification work. Including:

  • The requirements for patient areas contributed by, and the relationship between, the Wiring Rules (AS/ NZS 3000), and the Electrical Installations in Patient Areas  standard AS/NZS 3003
  • The clauses where  AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZ 3003 disagree and the complications these conflicts create when installing or upgrading patient areas.

The common mistakes and pitfalls to watch for in new Patient Area installations.
