Call for Abstracts: IHEA 2027 Lunch + Learn Program

IHEA is inviting abstract submissions for its 2027 Quarter 1 Lunch + Learn program.

Our national Lunch + Learn sessions provide healthcare engineering, facilities management and infrastructure professionals with access to practical knowledge, technical insights and relevant industry case studies—wherever they are located.

We’re seeking engaging presentations from members, industry partners, technical specialists and healthcare professionals who are willing to share their expertise with the wider IHEA community.

Suggested Topics

Submissions may cover areas including:

• Healthcare engineering and facility management

• Hospital infrastructure and asset management

• New technologies and innovative solutions

• Sustainability, energy efficiency and decarbonisation

• Compliance, standards and regulatory developments

• Medical gases and essential services

• Infection prevention and indoor environmental quality

• Predictive maintenance and data-led asset management

• Capital projects, design and construction

• Workforce development, leadership and industry research

• Practical case studies and lessons learned

Other topics relevant to healthcare engineering and the built environment are also welcome.

Session Format

Lunch + Learn sessions are generally held online on a Wednesday from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm AEST.

Presenters should allow approximately 45 minutes for their presentation, followed by audience questions and discussion. Sessions are recorded and may be shared with IHEA members following the event.

Presentations should be educational and technically focused. Practical case studies, research, project insights and real-world lessons are particularly encouraged. Content should offer genuine professional value.

• A short abstract or session overview

• Presenter name, position and organisation

• A brief presenter biography

• Presenter headshot

• Preferred dates or availability during February and March 2027
