Call for Nominations: IHEA Representative for AS 4083 Revision
IHEA is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced members to represent the Institute on a new Standards Australia project reviewing AS 4083—Planning for emergencies—Health care facilities.
Originally published more than 15 years ago, this important Standard is being revised to reflect significant changes in technology, government policy, industry practices and the risk profiles affecting contemporary healthcare facilities.
The successful nominee will join Standards Australia Technical Committee HE-026, Hospital Emergency Procedures, which is responsible for this project, and contribute knowledge and practical industry experience on behalf of IHEA and its members.
About the role
The IHEA representative will contribute to the review and revision of AS 4083 alongside a balanced group of stakeholder organisations.
An important part of the role will be engaging with the broader IHEA membership throughout the review process. The successful representative will be expected to:
Provide members with updates on the progress of the review
Consult with members to gather relevant feedback, expertise and industry perspectives
Represent the broader interests of IHEA members during committee discussions
Report back to the membership on proposed changes and significant developments
Identify opportunities for members to contribute to consultations and draft reviews
Committee participation is voluntary. While the required commitment may vary as the project progresses, representatives should expect approximately one online meeting each month, generally lasting two to three hours and held during business hours.
The appointed representative will remain a member of Technical Committee HE-026 until either IHEA or the representative advises otherwise. For the foreseeable future, the revision of AS 4083 is expected to be the committee’s primary body of work.
Who should apply?
We welcome expressions of interest from IHEA members with relevant experience in areas such as:
Healthcare emergency planning and response
