Meet the Team: Welcoming the 2025–2026 IHEA QLD Committee of Management

At the recent IHEA QLD Mid-Year Conference, members voted on and ratified the 2025–2026 Committee of Management.

As a volunteer-led organisation, IHEA relies on the dedication and commitment of its members to continue advancing healthcare engineering across Queensland. This new committee represents a diverse cross-section of the healthcare engineering space—bringing with them a wealth of expertise, fresh ideas, and a shared passion for strengthening our profession and community.


Each member contributes their professional skills, industry knowledge, and time to ensure IHEA delivers value through events, professional development, advocacy, and knowledge sharing.


Meet the 2025–2026 Committee of Management


President – Daniel Tinknell Engineering Services Manager| Sustainability, Infrastructure & Asset Services - West Morton Health


Danny has over 28 years of engineering experience and has been the Engineering Service Manager for West Moreton Health since March 2022 leading a multidisciplinary team that provides and manages engineering advice.  Danny has a further 12 years’ experience in health care engineering and asset management in various roles in Asset Management Unit, Health Coordination Services Unit and Metro North and volunteering (2 years) at network of hospitals in North India .  Danny also has 13 years’ experience in the manufacturing sector in project engineering, engineering management and manufacturing management consulting.  Danny has a Bachelor of Manufacturing and Materials Engineering (First Class Honours) and Masters of Engineering Science from The University of Queensland.  India and social justice is one his passions and in addition to his time volunteering formally in India, Danny has visited India a number of times leading (with his wife) groups of people who are interested in community development.

Vice President – Linda Jordinson - Cheif Marketing Officer - Opira Group


As Chief Marketing Officer at Opira Group, I bring over 25+ years’ experience in marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement, and event management. A Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualified professional, I have delivered a wide range of successful industry conferences, exhibitions, and corporate events, creating opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing. My background spans healthcare, education, and commercial sectors, with a focus on building strong relationships, driving innovation, and delivering tailored solutions that support the healthcare engineering community.

Secretary – Josiah Padget - Lead Consultant (QLD) - CETEC


Josiah Padget is a seasoned specialist in water, air, safety, and hygiene risk management with over 13 years of experience across Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and India. Holding qualifications in Occupational Hygiene, Health, Safety & Environmental Management, and Microbiology, Josiah has consulted for more than 130 Australian healthcare facilities.

 

Josiah is a Scientific Advisor to the Integrated Bioscience and Built Environment Consortium (IBEC) and serves as Secretary of the Queensland branch of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering, Australia (IHEA). He holds certifications including ATMMA Level 2, WELL PTA & AP & NABERS IE, and is a full member for several professional bodies including AIOH, AIHS, EHA, and QLD Water.

Treasurer – Michael Ward - Chief Engineer - Townsville Hospital and Health Service


Michael Ward is a degree-qualified engineer with over 18 years of post-graduate experience in biomedical and hospital engineering, health facility management, and infrastructure delivery. With a strong background in both technical and construction project management, Michael has successfully led the planning and execution of complex major health infrastructure projects.

Highly skilled in risk analysis and containment measures, Michael also brings extensive expertise in health facilities maintenance, contract management, and operational performance. Beyond technical excellence, he is experienced in recruitment, supervision, and the professional development of graduate engineers and trade staff, with a focus on succession planning and building strong, collaborative teams.
