Our most recent IHEA South Australia professional development evening was a fantastic success, drawing a full house and a great atmosphere of energy and collaboration.

Held at one of Adelaide’s newest healthcare facilities, the Eastwood Hospital, the event offered attendees an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at a state-of-the-art hospital designed with cutting-edge technology, sustainable practices, and patient-focused outcomes. The tour began with a warm welcome and project overview from the leadership team, giving valuable context on the vision, challenges, and achievements of the build.

Guided by the Project Manager, we toured the facility from Level 6 to the ground floor, with highlights including innovative engineering solutions, sustainability initiatives, and key design features that set this hospital apart from the norm.

After the tour, the group gathered at the Parkside Hotel for a relaxed networking session over drinks, generously sponsored by BESIX Watpac. Professionals from across the public and private sectors—spanning engineering, project management, and healthcare facilities—had the opportunity to reconnect, share insights, and strengthen networks.
The evening concluded with a Special State Meeting for IHEA members, where we discussed plans to refresh the SA/NT committee and called for nominations from those interested in shaping the future of the branch.
For those individuals interested in being involved in the revitalization of the SA Branch and have not registered their interest, please reach out to ihea.members@ihea.org.au
Thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this event. We look forward to continuing to build on this energy and delivering more valuable, engaging professional development opportunities in the months ahead.
For our South Australian members, a reminder for our next in-person PD - Cutting Costs, Carbon, and E-Waste in Healthcare.
This panel discussion will offer actionable insights for healthcare leaders looking to cut costs, reduce carbon emissions and e-waste, address security vulnerabilities, and achieve compliance simply and effectively—all while enhancing safety and data integrity in everyday operations.
