IHEA is pleased to announce Kate Napier will be speaking at the upcoming NSW PD + Networking event this Friday.
Kate is the Principal Heritage Architect at NSW Public Works with 30 years of experience in heritage, architecture, construction, and urban design.
Kate has worked in state government for the last 7 years including as Acting Director of Heritage Environment and Planning in the Department of Regional NSW and Acting Director of Heritage Stoneworks in the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure.
Kate’s current role at NSW Public Works includes Manager of the Minister’s Stonework Program. The Program offers Agency asset managers technical and strategic advice on portfolios and single assets, including condition assessments, planning, cost estimates, project design, statewide prioritised co-funding, and delivery.
The Program specifically helps under-supported Agency staff deliver best practice conservation of heritage sandstone assets, by focusing on collaboration, knowledge sharing, research, and relationship building. The broader Heritage Asset Advisory team at NSWPW works across Local and State Governments, promoting a conservation mindset and caretaker culture across all levels of government, connecting asset managers to exceptional technical expertise and a wide range of complimentary built environment support services within NSW Public Works.
Kate will be talking specifically about the condition of government-owned heritage assets and the various ways Public Works helps owners recover from a maintenance backlog and navigate a path back to health.
To hear Kate's presentation and see her work in action on the site tour of the Sydney Eye Hospital, register for our NSW PD + Networking event.
